Peach Friedman on the Healing Power of Yoga [Episode 78]

Rock Your Purpose Podcast

Welcome back to the show!

In this episode, my guest is Peach Friedman.

Peach Friedman is a longtime yoga teacher and teacher trainer, and the author of “Diary of an Exercise Addict,” an internationally acclaimed memoir that tells the story of her recovery from anorexia and compulsive over-exercise. She’s a former yoga studio owner, a mother of two, a poet, and a passionate human ever curious about understanding what it means to be embodied as a woman in this time. In addition to two decades of working in the yoga and fitness industries, Peach spent several years as an eating disorders recovery advocate, speaking on panels and lecturing across the US about the risks associated with exercise addiction. She’s been interviewed by Barbara Walters on “The View,” featured twice in People magazine, and as much as she loves the quiet peace of being home with her family, Peach feels called to continue speaking up and out about the issues she cares most deeply about.

Inside this episode:

  • Yoga as a tool for healing, embodying ourselves, and for eating disorder recovery.
  • Working with the shadow aspects of ourselves, unmasking the shadow, and reclaiming our magic.
  • The power of bearing witness and doing the inner work.
  • The shift as a yoga teacher to teaching yoga online.
