I am co-leader of the Embodied Breath™ Yoga & Breathwork Teacher Training, an E-RYT 200 and an artist. I have my B.S. in Psychology and am currently pursuing an M.A. in Mindfulness-based Counseling Psychology. I have been honing my skills since the early 2000’s and my intention is to support you in diving deeper into the practices of yoga, yoga philosophy, mindfulness, psychology, and so much more in a beautifully meaningful way.
I have studied extensively with Sri Dharma Mittra in New York City and Aimee Nitzberg in Santa Cruz, California.
I lead yoga and wellness retreats locally and abroad. My teaching focuses on mindfulness, breath awareness, and somatic experiencing while weaving in essences of Buddhist Psychology and Taoist principles. I fuse fluid movement, strength building, and a loving awareness of self.

We've included certification as an Embodied Breath™ Breathwork Facilitator Coach as a port of your immersion because we've seen how breathwork changes and transforms lives in and out of the studio setting.
You'll leave this training with the tools to safely and effectively integrate and teach Breathwork to students and clients in a variety of settings, including retreats, immersions, coaching, and corporate settings.
[Emily has helped me] understanding how the alignment with what I believe, who I am and what I have to offer creates a more balanced and harmonious existence. Her encouragement to go out into the world and share what I've learned has made a huge impact on my life, as well as others.
In between to studio class room hours, trainees will have homework and study projects, and will be expected to keep up a daily yoga practice, attend public and livestream classes, and practice teaching.
Emily and Kayla will indeed be leading you through the entirety of the training; while guest presenters might join us for a segment or a day or two, they will be present there with you every step of the way on your journey to becoming a certified yoga teacher.
Once enrolled, trainees will receive the reading list and other materials for the training. Teacher Training Manuals will be distributed at the commencement of the training.
This training is entirely an in-person training— any online content is there to supplement your learning and will act as some of your homework hours only.
You’ll be learning breathwork and pranayama from the yoga tradition, rooted in embodiment and somatic integration. You’ll learn a full scope of breathwork tools, from foundational yogic breathing to Kundalini breathwork, and so much more. This isn’t a holotropic breathwork training— it’s much richer. Upon completion, you’ll be receiving certification as an Embodied Breath™ Breathwork Facilitator Coach.
This is an intimate group yoga teacher training, and we are expecting 12-20 students. You will not be a number in this training— you’ll receive 1:1 attention and support from your lead teachers, Emily Perry and Kayla Copeland.
The yoga teacher training will meet at Pleasure Point Yoga, in Santa Cruz, CA. We will be meeting in either the main studio, or the movement studio (which is located in the same complex near the Chinese Restaurant).
Why, yes, there are! We’ll connect you to the team and get you sorted on a plan that works for you— just message us at hello @emilyperry.com to learn more..
Once you've graduated and you've received your certificate, you can register with the Yoga Alliance as a RYT-200— a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200 hour level. We'll walk you through the registration process.
